Born in Lyndora, March 30, 1925, he was the son of Joseph Sr and Fannie Malec Kosar.
He had worked at Pullman Standard for 34 years and retired when the plant closed.
Mr. Kosar was a member of St Michael Roman Catholic Church and the Butler Moose Lodge. He was a former president of the Butler Prep League and past treasurer of Lyndora Fire Department.
During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Vavro Kosar, to whom he was married for 51 years; a son, Michael of Vienna, VA,; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Terrie) Parsons of North Carolina; three brothers, John, Steve, and Paul, all of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Turk, and Mrs. Nelle Pollifrone, both of Butler, and Mrs. Ann Smuch of Prospect; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Burial will be at St Michaels cemetary, Butler.
