Valda attended South Glens Falls High School. She was an avid reader, loved cooking, and was a passionate cardinal collector. She was also very active with the seniors at Midtown Apartments. The family would like to say a special thank you to Valda's dear friend, Joan, and "The Gang" at Midtown Apartments. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Cindy; her sister, Kathleen Wright; and her brother, William Kennedy.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Richardson and her husband, Gary, of South Glens Falls; her beloved grandchildren, Meghan and Aaron Schultz of South Glens Falls; her sisters, Mildred Humphries and her husband, Robert, of South Glens Falls, Dawn Kennedy of South Glens Falls; Mary Trombley and David Drew of Gansevoort; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation, Funeral Services and Burial were on Nov. 2, arrangements by M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls. www.kilmers.com with the Rev. C. Michael Abraham officiating. Burial was at Southside Cemetery, town of Moreau.
