William "Bill" Bailey, 80, of Windsor, Missouri, died March 31, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was born August 25, 1926, on the family farm in a 2-story log house in Morgan County, near Versailles, Mo., the son of Rufus Newton Bailey and Mary Francis (Wilson) Bailey. On March 4, 1994 in Windsor, Mo., he married Ruth Margaret Tomkins, who preceded him in death on August 21, 1996.

Mr. Bailey farmed until he was 21 and then started working in construction for several years. He later went to work for the General Motors Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Mo., retiring after 25 years. Bill enjoyed fishing and gardening, canning much of what he had produced in his garden. Many people agree that Bill was also a great cook. He was a member of the Windsor Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 7 sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4, 2:00 p.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand, officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Point Cemetery near Green Ridge, Mo. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Windsor Assembly of God Church, in care of the funeral home
