Mary Gill, daughter of Austin Gill and Margaret Geraghty, was a native of County Mayo, Ireland. She was baptized on 12 Jul 1869. Mary immigrated to the United States on the steamship Gallia, arriving in New York on 3 May 1889. She married Stephen Faherty, son of Philip Faherty and Anne Walsh, in 1893 in Philadelphia. They were the parents of four children. Mary was widowed in 1907. Her second marriage was to Anthony Hand, son of Christopher and Margaret Hand. Mary died in Philadelphia at the age of 42, and was interred in Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon on 23 Oct 1911.
