George Bond

Mr. George Bond, age 87, resident of Kilmichael, died of cancer Friday, April 16, 1993 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Era Chandler Bond.

Mr. Bond was a retired logger and a member of Pine bluff Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Era Bond of Kilmichael; seven daughters, Mrs. Georgia Osborn, Mrs. Linda Barnhill and Mrs. Bonnie Mann, all of Winona, and Mrs. Dorothy Nail, Miss Julia Bond, Mrs. Brenda Dees and Mrs. Luna Dees, all of Kilmichael; four sons, Neal Bond, Carrol Bond and Billy Bond, all of Kilmichael and James Bond of Ethel; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Moorehead of Clinton, Mrs. Ophelia McAlister of Ramond, Mrs. Oleta Lott of Decator, Alabama and Mrs. Mary McGee of Jackson; his brother, Pleas Bond of Kilmichael; 28 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinebluff Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Latham and James Green officiating. Burial was in Pinebluff Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Donald Moore, John McCoy, Hurbert Nesbit, Harvey Greenlee, Jarvis Cummings, Leroy Garrett, Harry Neal and Toad Donahoo.

Honorary pallbearers were Barksdale Garner, G.B. Gill, Jim Henson and Ozell Herring.

Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
