Mrs. Malinda Sievers Ashbrook, the wife of Mr. S.F. Ashbrook, died at her home at Slate Branch Sunday. She was born September 1, 1867, and was well known and beloved throughout the county. She was a kind, Christian woman. Funeral services were held Monday at the home, the Rev. W.A. Reese officiating. Interment was in the City Cemetery.

Besides her husband, she is survived by nine children, as follows, Charles and Lawrence Ashbrook and Mrs. Lizzie Cundiff of Cincinnati, Mrs. John Squires of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. John Myers and Mrs. James Clifton of Gibson City, Ill, Frederick Ashbrook of Pisgah, and David and Harry Ashbrook of Slate Branch. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of many friends.
