He had lived most of his life at Route 1, Amsterdam. He was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ and the Knights of Pythias of Bergholz.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; one son, Howard of Bergholz; six daughters, Mrs. Laura Palmer of Kilgore, Mrs. Ruth Dye of Hartville, Mrs. Alice McCort of Carrollton, Mrs. Lois Lowery of Canton, Mrs. Evelyn Bolen of Hartville and Mrs. Blanche Slates of Bergholz; one brother, William J. Shepherd of Carrollton; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Maple and Mrs. Harry Nape both of Carrollton. Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Allmon Funeral Home with Rev. H. H. Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the Harlem Springs Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday afternoon and evening.
