Big Pine - Longtime resident Julia Gunnoe, 71, died Saturday at Northern Inyo Hospital. mrs. Gunnoe was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Big Pine Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on Januaery 2, 1918. She had resided in Big Pine for 50 years. Mrs. Gunnoe was the mother of Ray Birmingham of Big Pine, Larry Birmingham of Chino, and Lynda Roberts of Bountiful, Utah. Also surviving are 11 brothers and sisters, 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Graveside services will be Monday at Big Pine Crocker Cemetery. Bishop Joseph Stapley of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Final arrangements are under the direction of Brune & Buck Mortuary.
