John J. Bozich, age 93, of Ferndale, passed away Friday, the 17th of October 2003. A 35 year resident of Whatcom County, John was born in Johnstown, PA on March 21, 1910 to John and Annie (Bukovac) Bozich. John served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. During WWII, he built ships in Florida for the war. He was married to Edith Miesel for 53 years. Edith preceded him in death in 1996.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his property, and spoiling his great-grandchildren and his dog, Hunter.
John is survived by his sons, John Jr. of Florida, Michael Bozich and wife Judy of Ferndale grandchildren Kaye Owens and husband Lynn, Leigh Bozich, April Headrick and husband Jason, Kim Bozich, Chris Bozich great-grandchildren Mackenzie Headrick & Jason Headrick Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1C, Bellingham, WA 98225.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, at 2:00 PM, at Enterprise Cemetery.
