Found Dead In Fence.
ALFRED MAYNE (54), farmer, of Colebrook, was found dead on Friday morning with his head caught between two wires of a fence at the side of the Rhyndaston Rd., near Colebrook.
Mayne's sister-in-law, Mrs. Doris Mayne, discovered the body at 8.30 a.m. at the bottom of a low bank about 8 ft. from the side of the road.
Mayne apparently had stumbled down the bank, struck his head on one of the fence posts, and fallen between the wires of the fence.
Tpr. R. J. Bush, of Colebrook, later removed the body to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Mr. Mayne, who was unmarried, was well-known in the Colebrook district, where he had lived most of his life.
