AUGUSTA, Ga. - Faye Jeanette Elliott Huff, age 81, of Augusta, passed away October 28, 2016 in her home. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Westover Cemetery, Augusta. A native of Phenix City, Alabama, she was born August 2, 1935 to Minnie Marjorie Walton and Herman Wesley Elliott. At an early age, Faye lost her father and her mother later married her stepfather William B. Whaley, Sr. Faye was a lifelong resident of Augusta, graduating from The Academy of Richmond County. During her life, her Army family required her to relocate to the Philippines, Fort Bragg, NC, Tampa, Columbus, and eventually Fort Gordon. Later her Navy family took her to Norfolk, Jacksonville, and Pensacola. After finally returning home, she has remained in Augusta for the last 21 years. Locally she worked for the Richmond County Tax Office, Appliance Land, Brush and Collier, and the 1st National Bank. For the past 20 years, Faye has been associated with St. James United Methodist Church on Greene Street. Her hobbies include cooking, sewing, caring for her house plants, dogs, and cats.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, George Milligan Huff; daughter, Victoria (Brian) Anne Brinson Ellis of Augusta; brother, William B. (Linda) Whaley, Jr., Augusta; granddaughter, Amanda (Bill) Breanne Ellis Lamb; grandsons, Christopher Robert Baxter, Wesley Kyle Baxter, and John Elliott Brinson; stepsons, George (Latosha) Milligan Huff II, Leitchfield, KY and Michael (Kendra) David Huff of Bowling Green, KY; two great-grandchildren, Wesley Wyatt Baxter and Elizabeth McKenzie Baxter, both of Augusta. She is predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Dianne Brinson Baxter, and a son, Gary Elliott Brinson.
