Funeral services for Carrie Glawson Steart, who died June 2, 2011, were held Tuesday at Springfield Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Gayle Middlebrook officiated; burial was in the Smith-Thomas Cemetery.

Mrs. Stewart was born September 26, 1949 in Hillsboro to the parentage of Arthur and Fannie Stnadifer Glawson. She attended school at Jasper County Training School. At an early age she joined King's Chapel, where she was a faithful member until her health declined.

She worked at Monticello Manufacturing Company until retirement. She was a beautiful peson who would always greet everyone with a smile, and was there to lend a helping hand if needed. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include two sons, A.J. Stewart of Monticello and Arckel Stewart of Hillsboro; five sisters, Ola Mae Glawson, Shirley Vinson, Sarah Hill, of Shady Dale; Mildred Colvard and Terrell Banks; three brothers, Arthur Lee Glawson Jr., Terry L. Glawson Sr. and Curtis Eric Glawson Sr., a granddaughter, Kyelah Stewart and seven grandsons, Jordan, Brandon, William, Christian, Jalen, Justin, and Jayce Stewart and a host of other relatives and friends.

Classmates from the class of 1967 served as pallbeareres and flower bearers.
