Mary married John Beers in Seaforde, County Down, Northern Ireland. They had eight children there before emigrating to NYC in 1851.

Mary & John were originally interred in Greenwood Cemetery. They were removed to Woodlawn when son Matthew built his mausoleum in 1905.
