Mr. Howard was born in Garryton, Ala., and was a longtime resident. He was employed in maintenance operations with the IRS in Philadelphia prior to his retirement.
He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Huntingdon Valley and the Shiloh Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Ala.
Husband of the late Queen Martin Howard, he is survived by two sons, John Howard and Ollie Howard, Jr., both of Trevose; two daughters, Evelyn Howard and Shirley Howard, both of Trevose; one brother Tony Howard of Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Huntingdon Valley, 2451 Murray Ave., from 7 to 8 this evening.
Services will be held in Alabama on December 4 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Route 29, Tuskegee at 1 p.m. under the direction of the Burton Funeral Home, Martin Luther King Highway, Tuskegee.
Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Tuskegee.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Gibson Funeral Home, Willow Grove.
Memorial contributions may be made to either church or through the family.
