Lugines Spirles quietly and peacefully entered into internal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 1996. He was born November 11, 1907 to the late Lugines and Mary Spirles in Greenwood, Florida.

He received his early education in the Florida School System. In his early life as a young man of sixteen years he felt God had something for him to do so he was baptized and worked under Pastor Reverend A. Glover of the Hackney Baptist Church in Florida.

In 1929 he married the late Fannie Brighton.

Because of his vision in 1938 he came to Linconia, Bucks County, where he felt that he could help hue out a beautiful community as he did this with the late Reverend Bessie Wheeler.

He worked for Haverwick and Borkick Company of Philadelphia under Local 592 as a Brick and Stone Mason for twenty five years and for the United States Steele for thirty years.

He later married Beatrice Moore who also preceded him in death. Lugines Spirles will always be remembered because he touched and enriched many lives. His greatest interest was to help others.

He worked tirelessly and faithfully. He was truly an inspiration.

He leaves to mourn their loss: two sisters, Hallie Lewis of Riveria Beach, Florida, and Mary Spriles of Brooklyn, New York; two nephews, Donald and David Spirles of Philadelphia; six nieces, Geneva, Hazel, Deborah, Allie, Earlene and Robin; and a host of grandnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
