Note: Philomon's Parker's family were terribly afflicted with cholera and many
of them died. Sarah Blanchard Batchelder attended to them when she was a young
girl.
His father was Lieutenant Jonas Parker who was shot and bayoneted at the Battle
at Lexington on 19 April, 1775. Philemon Parker's name also appears on a pay
abstract of men who enlisted 4 Dec., 1775 into Captain John Wood's Company,
Colonel Loammi Baldwin's 26th Regiment, his name being on a pay abstract. He had
service for 28 days (also) as a private in captain John Wood's Company, Colonel
Baldwin's regiment on a pay abstract for April, 1776, dated New York (also) the
same company and regiment pay abstract for May, 1776; (also) same company and
regiment on pay abstract for travel allowance for the year 1776, etc. sworn to
in Middlesex Co. 21 April, 1777, reported discharged 230 miles from home..... He
also served as a private in Captain Benjamin Ward Jr's Company. He enlisted 22
Jan., 1776 and was discharged 18 Nov., 1776 (service of 9 months, 28 days), This
company was raised in Salem, Mass. stationed there for defense of the seacoast.
His name appears on the roll sworn to in Essex Co. Mass. His name appears on
another company return dated Lexington, 14 Aug., 1777, made to Colonel Brooks of
men raised from Captain Francis Brown's Company, being every sixth man from
'each list' (probably traine band and alarm lists); (also) private in Captain
George Minot's Company, Colonel Samuel Bullard's Regiment, enlisted 16 Aug.,
1777, and discharged 30 Nov., 1777 (service 3 months and 25 days) in Northern
Department, including 11 days, and 220 miles travel home.

Philemon m. Susan aka Susannah Stone Parker (1758-1815) and moved from Westmoreland, NH to Peru, VT to farm. They lived in a log house and had 11 children:

Sarah "Sally" Parker (1785-1877), m. Scammell Burt, a farmer; she d. of pneumonia.
Jonas (1785-1810), d. cholera.
Nancy Parker (b. 28 Sep 1786, d. aft. 1826), m. Timothy Wyman in 1803; 9 children.
Anna (1787), d. cholera.
John-1 (1788)
Nathan (1787/8-1810), d. cholera.
Susannah aka Susan (1789), d. cholera.
Lucinda (1794-1815)
Luther (1796-1840) a twin, a farmer; m. Dolly Byam.
