John J. Blattner, 84, of Johnson Street, Pittston, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing.
John was born Dec. 30, 1936, in Dupont, to Frank and Stella BLattner.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Deluca Lynch; and elder brother, Frank.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Josephine Borini Blattner; son, John Jr.; and grandson, Giorgio Deluca; son-in-law, Brendon Lynch; and his beloved, Care Eipper.
John attended Pittston Central Catholic High School, Cleveland Institute of Electronics and Capital Radio Engineering Institute. He earned a FCC First Class Radio Telephone License. John served in the U.S. Army and was employed as an engineer for TV stations both local and out of state. John played professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox Organization. Among his many interests were bowling, golfing and motor riding.
Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with interment in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston.
