Carl was working in the C.C Camp [Civilian Conservation Corps Camps] at Nahunta, Brantley County, Georgia & was killed by a falling tree. His neck was broken. Carl was staying with his Uncle William Smith's wife his Aunt Alice. William had died 06 May 1932. They were living at Route #3, Richland, Georgia. The census dated 04 Apr 1930 shows Carl as a laborer at Fitzgerald Cotton Mill.
