Between 1851and 1889 there were more than 1900 burials, grave plans and records were not in good order. When it became full the site was closed and a new burial ground was prepared in Manor Road, Ossett in 1920. Many graves were excavated in the late 60's and early 70's for road widening and re-interned in Manor Road Cemetery. Few original headstones exist and are not in their original place
