Mary Elizabeth King Mary Elizabeth King, age 88, of 301 Sharon Dr., died at her residence April 5, 2012. A native of Ocilla, she was born November 20, 1923 the daughter of the late Robert C. and Ida Johnson McPhail. Elizabeth has been a resident of Americus since 1969 when she moved here from Atlanta. She became the Proprietor of First Jewelers located on Windsor Ave next to the Windsor Hotel. She later served as Proprietor of Brown Accounting located on South Lee St. until retiring in December of 2011. Elizabeth has touched so many lives with her loving and generous heart to span a lifetime. She is dearly loved by her family and all those she has touched in her own special way. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Martino officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family residence, 301 Sharon Dr. Pall bearers include Eric Brown, Kernwood brown, K.C. Brown, Larry Brown, Kevin Wagner and Adam Brown. In lieu of flowers, please consider Memorial Contributions to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 332 South Lee St., Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include her husband, Lowell King of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Helen McPhail of Moultrie; a sister, Vivian Godfrey of Macon and numerous children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kernwood Brown, Sr.; six brothers, C.R. McPhail, Dennis McPhail, David Edwin McPhail, Johnny McPhail, Robert McPhail and Homer McPhail; and six sisters, Virginia Browning, Ruby Singletary, Ethel Sewell, Mary Ida McPhail Twiford, Grace Bowen and Evelyn McPhail.
