AW "Red" Lindeman Jr, 89, of Plainview passed away on Thursday April 1, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at Kornerstone Chapel with Brother Ron Brunson officiating. Burial will be at Kress Cemetery at a later date.

AW was born on October 25, 1931 on the family farm in Swisher County, TX. The 3rd child of Adolph and Pearlee Lindeman, AW attended Price and Kress schools. He took over the family farm at the age of 19 and helped support his younger siblings after losing their father early to heart disease. Farming became a lifetime role and he was a beloved brother. He had the patience of a saint and was a great uncle "Dubby" to his nieces and nephews. He taught most of the nieces and nephews to drive and would let them drive him all around the countryside. He loved spending time with family, made delicious biscuits, loved chocolate and always had a well-stocked candy jar. Besides being a farmer he was a dealer for Dekalb seeds, ran B.F.W. grain in Claytonville, and was an accomplished handy man, welder, and wood worker. He was a collector of antiques and you could often find him and his wife Karen at a garage sale, estate sale, or auction. He especially loved collecting old advertising pencils and coin purses. He was slow to anger a gentle man with a heart of gold.

He married Karen Brown on February 24, 1990 in Lubbock TX and became "Pop" to her two children Chris Cooper and Cindy (Dave) Holahan and "Popie" to Cindy's children Hannah, Dustin, and Calahan Stanford.

AW is survived by his sisters Josephine Clark of Lakewood, CO, Barbara Bloxom of Santa Fe, NM and brothers Dale Lindeman and Herman Lindeman of Plainview, TX and Karl (Sheryl) Lindeman of Kress, TX

Nieces and Nephews Jim Lindeman, Cindy Clark, Elaine Lindeman, Kevin Bloxom, Polly Horne, Dondi Walker, Jennifer Lindeman, Cody Lindeman and Jason Lindeman

Step-children Chris Cooper and Cindy (Dave) Holahan and grandchildren Hannah, Dustin, and Calahan Stanford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Pearlee Lindeman, his wife Karen Brown Lindeman, brother Jimmie Lindeman and sister Wanda Lindeman

The family suggest memorial may be made to The Kress Cemetery Association, PO Box 1194, Kress, TX 79052
