Jerry "Dale" Lindeman, 85, of Kress, TX, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Pastor Kelly Warren officiating. Burial will be at Kress Cemetery at a later date.

Dale was born on August 29, 1937, on the family farm in Swisher County, TX. He was the 6th child of Adolph and Pearlee (Burton) Lindeman and was soon joined by 2 younger brothers. Dale attended Price and Kress schools, then joined in the family effort to support each other after losing their father early to heart disease. He was a devoted and loving son who drove his mother everywhere.

Dale was a farm hand in the Claytonville community and continued living at the family farm where he was born, until moving to Christian Manor in 2007. He enjoyed the farm life and was a hard worker, with a sly smile and ornery streak that kept everyone on their toes. He could often be seen walking to the mailbox, driving out on the backroads taking one of his dogs for a ride, or sneaking off to Kress to catch Kangaroo sporting events. Dale loved spending time with family, especially the little ones, always keeping a watchful eye on them and coming to their rescue as was often needed. He enjoyed playing his records, among his favorites Elvis, and of course, good old country music. He loved the holidays and family traditions like stuffing sausage at the farm for Christmas, opening gifts with the kids, and hiding easter eggs as many times as anybody wanted to hunt them.

After moving to Christian Manor, Dale embraced a new role- he helped deliver packages and checked on the other residents. He always had a good supply of Hershey's chocolate bars and enjoyed the homemade ice cream social every summer.

Dale is survived by his sister Barbara Bloxom of Santa Fe, NM, brother Herman Lindeman of Plainview, TX, brother Karl (Sheryl) Lindeman of Kress, TX, and nieces and nephews Jim Lindeman, Cindy Clark, Elaine Lindeman, Kevin Bloxom, Polly Horne, Dondi Walker, Cody Lindeman and Jason Lindeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Pearlee Lindeman, brothers Jimmie and AW Lindeman, sisters Wanda Lindeman and Josephine Clark, and niece Jennifer Lindeman.

A special Thank You to Running Water Draw Care Center, who not only affectionately nicknamed him "Farmer Dale", but enriched his last few years greatly with their loving care and support.

The family suggest memorial may be made to The Kress Cemetery, C/O Kress National Bank, PO Box 660, Kress, TX 79052
