Here lies the Body of Capt. Jonathan Butterick who died March 23: 1767 in the 77th year of his age. He lived a reputable & useful life; in the field a good officer; in ye Church a Deacon -- grave & not duble tongued; in private life a good Christian, loving husband, a kind father, a friendly neighbor, and was honored at death being followed to his grave by his aged widow & 13 well-instructed children.
