He was the loving husband of the late Eloise Hollis Tidwell. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 21, 1923, he was the son of the late William Tidwell, Sr. and Bessie Bookert Tidwell. William was employed with the Boston Housing Authority for 22 years, retiring in 1992.
Williams genuine warmth touched the hearts of many people in his life, and, he too experienced great joy in the kindness he received from others. Those closest to him were strengthened by his love.
Also Predeceased by his son Anthony in 2004, he is survived by three sons, William, III, and his wife Margaret of Medford, Gregory of Marlborough, and Jeffrey and his wife Carolyn of Marshfield; a daughter, Jewel Ellis of Cary, NC; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Sherman, Sabra, Jeremy, Toya, Michelle, Natashia and William IV; a brother, Isaiah and his wife Hellena of GA; and a sister, Loretta of NJ.
A memorial service for Mr. Tidwell will be conducted at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Natick, 85 Bacon Street, Natick, on Saturday, September 15th at 3pm. Burial will be private.
