TRIMBLE'S OLDEST CITIZEN DEAD: MR. GEORGE WASHINGTON WILLIAMSON died at his home near town Monday night of seniity. After a funeral service at the home of his son. Mr. Sam Williamson in Bedford, conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. J. E. Roberts, the burial tok place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mr. Williamson was the oldest resident of Trimble county. He was born in Park county, Ind., September 21, 1826 being 99 years nine months and eight days old at the time of his death. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Mary Mershon. Of this union were born eight children, five of whom survive: Charles and Sam Williamson, of this county; William of Illinois, Ben of Muncie, Ind., and Mrs. Lula Brown, of Trimble. His second marriage was to Lucinda Parson, who survives together with three daughters: Mrs. Mamie Wiley, of Carroll county; Mrs. Emma Stockdale, of North Madison, Ind., and Mrs. Ava Chandler, of Madison, Ind. He leaves a half-brother, Mr. Uriah Gassaway, of Indiana, who also is a very old man, and one of the few veterans of the Mexican War. Mr. Williamson was a soldier during the Civil War, serving in the Union army. Fifteen years ago he was converted and united with the Methodist church at Union Grove.
