I suspect there was a family bible at one time, since the full birth and death dates are recorded for Mary, James and their 11 known Moffett children:
Elizabeth "Betsey," 29 Oct 1790 - 28 Dec 1853, (Jno McClanahan)*
John, 14 Oct 1791 (Eliz.McC Tate & Marg. Gilleland), below
Thomas Stuart, 6 Oct 1794 - 18 Nov 1794
Robert Stuart, 5 Jul 1795 (Hadassah McClelland Guthrie), below
James, 14 Feb 1797 - 29 Oct 1855
Jane, 14 Feb 1797 - 23 Jul 1885, (John K. Moore, MD), below
William, 6 Jan 1799 (cousin Jane Robinson), below
Thomas Stuart, 14 Aug 1800, below
Mary Stuart, 4 Jul 1802, (Alex. T. Barclay), below
Eleanor "Ellen" Robinson, 16 Apr 1804 (Jas C Moore), below
Julia Ann Lyle, 13 Mar 1806 - 24 Jun 1851, (cousin Wm H. Paxton, 6 Mar 1815 - 3 Oct 1853)
Many generations believed this Mary Stuart had a direct connection with Mary Queen of Scots, which I can't disprove. As a result they often named a first born daughter after her. I have found many Mary Stuarts in this Moffett family, even collaterally.
The 26 Mar 1878 issue of the Staunton Spectator, includes an article called Bethel Church-Yard. It includes over 500 people, listed within, including "Mrs Mary Moffett" No dates were given, just names.
The Works Progress Administration Inventory Project of Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery by Scioto M. Herndon on 11 Aug 1936 has the exact same wording on Mary Moffett's grave as below.
See Jos A Waddell's Annals of Augusta Co., VA, p 367-68.
*Their son Private John McClanahan, Jr. (26 Aug 1820 - 13 Mar 1892) and their daughter Mary Ellen McClanahan were buried at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
