Margaret "Peggy" Louise Fowler
November 16, 1918 - April 14, 2021

Margaret (Peggy) Louise Fowler passed away at Bell Trace Senior Living Center in Bloomington, Indiana on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was 102 years old. Peggy was born November 16, 1918, in Monroe County, one of seven children to Daniel and Gladys Greene.

She lived nearly her entire life in Harrodsburg, Indiana, only moving to Bloomington in her 90's to live with her sister Pat. A few years later, Peggy and Pat moved together to Bell Trace Senior Living Center.

Peggy graduated from Smithville High School where she met her future husband, John (Bob) Robert Fowler. They were married 67 years before his death in 2008. She worked at Nurre Mirror Plate Company and Fountain Federal Savings and Loan before retiring in 1976 to care for her grandchildren. She was a life-long member of the West Second Street Church of Christ and was a strong believer in following God's Word. As her body began to weaken her faith in God never wavered.

Peggy's priority was always her family. She thoroughly loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and they loved Grandma Peg. She enjoyed hosting large family gatherings and was known for her chocolate cake and fried fish. She enjoyed being with her sisters, playing cards, reading, and visiting with family and neighbors.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chuck Martindale; two granddaughters, Courtney Sweet and Stacey Sublette and three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Ruby, and Scout. She is also survived by her sisters Pat Owens and Nancy Shields; her sisters-in-laws Carol Fowler and Thelma Fowler; special friend Stephanie Ingram Quigley, and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, Jack Greene and sisters Mary Jo Brown, Mickey Zimny, and Joyce Zimny.

Special thanks to the staff at Bell Trace Senior Living Center, to IU Hospice, and to her niece, Janie Fivecoate for all their loving care and help.

Honoring Peggy's request a graveside only service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Mike Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to IU Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
