In 1865 he was married to Miss Louise Henley, of Wilkes County, GA. At marriage his father gave him the Flat Rock farm, the same place on which he was brought up, the same on which he reared his own ten children and the same on which he died at the of his daughter, Mrs. E. Woods.
Last April 17 he celebrated his 86th birthday down in the grove of the old home place, with a large number of relatives and friends. His death on May 12 is greatly mourned by his remaining five sons, two daughters, 36 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
