Marjory Lind Allan, 101, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Touchstone Healthcare Community in Sioux City.

A service honoring Marjory's life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dan Kahl officiating. Interment will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Marjory is survived by her daughters, Linda (Richard) Walrod, Sioux City; Beth Andersen, Dubuque; daughter-in-law Marcia Allan, Colorado Springs, Colo., eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Melvin, son Roger, sister Mildred and brother Charles, parents, son-in-law Wayne (Andy) Andersen and grandson Kyle Andersen.
Marjory was born June 3, 1919, in Fort Dodge to Oscar and Edith Anderson. She attended school in Fort Dodge, graduating in 1937. She then worked for Fort Dodge Telephone Company for three years. Marjory was united in marriage to Melvin Allan, her high school sweetheart, on August 24, 1940. In 1942, she joined her husband at Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, Ill., where they lived for two years. In 1944, she returned to Fort Dodge, awaiting his return in 1945. They made their home in Fort Dodge. Marjory worked for Fort Dodge Animal Health for 27 years in the data processing department, retiring in 1984.
Marjory was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as church secretary and as a Sunday school teacher. She was a longtime member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority.
