Rose Ann Aeschleman, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's residence in Elkhart, under the care of Hospice.
Rose Ann was born August 29, 1935 in Wyoming, Illinois, to the late William and Pauline (Feucht) Knobloch. On May 20, 1956 in Princeville, Illinois, she married Richard Lee Aeschleman at the Apostolic Christian Church.
Rose Ann was owner and operator of Draperies Etc., Inc. She retired in 2014 after 35 years of managing a successful business by daily living her motto, "business by the golden rule."
Because Rose Ann accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in her teens and was a faithful follower of her Lord all of her life, she was an active member in several churches through the years, and most recently a member of Cornerstone Vineyard Church in Mishawaka.
Rose Ann was a loving wife and dedicated mother. Her children adored her loving, kind and gentle spirit. She made friends easily and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was known as "Aunt Rosie" by many of her nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Rose Ann loved her work, both at "the shop" and at home. Her hands were seldom idle. While she didn't have one main hobby, there were many activities she enjoyed during each changing season. These included planting her favorite vegetables and flowers, bird watching out their front porch or back deck, baking everyone's favorite desserts depending on the occasion, attending her grandchildren's special events whenever possible, visiting her out-of-town children and grandchildren frequently, and offering warm hospitality to a constant stream of both friends and family who visited their home.
Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Richard; and their four children, Timothy (Peggy) Aeschleman of Kokomo, Becky (Bill) Ohland of Peoria, Arizona, Thomas (Patricia) Aeschleman of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Ann (Kevin) Hunsberger of Elkhart. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Weyeneth of Ft. Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Esther Kieser, Ruth Kieser, and Lillian Elsasser; and five brothers, Harold, Edward, William, Robert, and James Knobloch.
There will be a private family burial service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00PM Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, with Pastor Alan Mock officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Cornerstone Church and Bethel University (but if you send flowers, please send roses).
