8388 Acting Bombardier F Parker, 16th Company, Southern Division, Royal Garrison Artillery. Deployed to Natal, South Africa for the Second Anglo Boer War. During the recuperation periof following the relief of Ladysmith, he fell ill and died of enteric fever (typhoid) at Elandslaagte, Natal.
