During WWII, she attended Vassar College and graduated in 3 years. One year later she attended Michigan. She majored in geology. A year and a half later, she was employed by an oil company engaged in deep-well drilling potential.
In 1950, her old Vassar roommate had discovered Aspen. Anne Davis had moved to Aspen and started a hand-out daily newspaper, she convinced "Flossie" to join her.
Flossie and Jim Adams met and married in 1953 in New York, in the "little" church around the corner, and, soon after, she in her yellow Jeepster and I in my 1931 fire engine red Ford pickup, loaded with all our possessions, headed for Aspen one last time.
We bought a parcel of land next to the Aspen Meadows, dug a well and, together, built a 600 sq. ft. house on the property.
Soon after, Flossie produced two wonderful boys.
Ultimately, the boys entered Aspen Ski Racing program, and all three became seriously involved in Aspen Ski Racing program throughout their middle school and high school years.
When the children were gone, Flossie spent many years working at Sabbatini Sport as Office Manager/Purchasing.
In the summer months, she sailed her sunfish sailboat competitively every Thursday and won most races.
After Jim retired they traveled extensively for many years. East, West, North and South.
She was an exceptional mother and a dear and lovely wife. Our family will miss her dearly.
