Moshe was a victim of the Mount Meron tragedy. On April 30, 2021, on the holiday of Lag b'Omer, around 90,000 Orthodox Jews gathered on Mount Meron at the burial site of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. A stampede erupted in the men's section after crowds tried to push through a narrow passageway, which resulted in the deaths of 45 people and scores more injured. Many described this day as one of the worst disasters Israel has ever seen - what was supposed to be a holiday of joy and celebration, ended in senseless heartbreak.
