A lifelong area resident, Diane graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School in 1982. Shortly after graduating high school, Diane began working as a hairdresser in the Cape May area, working at the Hairloom (with Marion Taylor) in Cape May for many years. She was happiest when she was with her grandchildren, who she adored, with family, and at home with her pets. She loved all animals and nature and all its wonders. She was fun loving, and bubbly. You could always count on her to tell you the truth, whether you liked it or not, because you knew it came from a place of love. Diane was incredibly brave and strong.
She is predeceased by her parents, Harley and Betty Pratt. Diane is dearly missed and forever loved by her family which includes her husband of 26 ½ years, Kevin Carr; daughter, Jennifer (and Richard "Tony") Simon; 2 grandchildren, Evalyn and Jonathon; 2 sisters, Denise (and Sandy) Weber and Debbie (and John) Hopp; mother and father-in-law, Eleanor and John Carr; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also missed by her beloved cats, who she called "her children with fur."
Diane's viewing will be held on Friday (April 23rd) from 10am until 10:50am in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2800 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood (corner of Atlantic & Poplar Aves) with funeral ceremony to follow and begin at 11am (masks and social distancing are observed). Interment will take place in Cold Spring Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Animal Outreach, 600 Park Blvd., West Cape May, NJ 08204.
