Mr. William Arthur Knight, age 91, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday, February 13, 1999 in a local hospital. Mr. Knight was born May 28, 1907 in Polk County and was a member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. R. C. Knight and Ada Bell Kirk Knight; two daughters, Ella Buchanan and Mary Lou Knight; five brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie M. Knight of Cedartown, six sons, W. J. Knight, B. P. Knight, Elbert Knight and Charles Knight all of Cedartown, Johnny Knight of Zebulon and Jimmy Knight of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Annie Bell Knight of Cedartown, Bessie Hooker of Cleveland, Tenn. And Velma Weaver of Barnesville; a brother, Emanual Knight of Cave Spring; three sisters, Iris Rutledge and Dot Glenn both of Cedartown and Ida Bollen of Rome; 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, February 15, from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Wood, Dr. James Guy and the Rev. J. C. Robinson officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers included Stanley Knight, Danny Knight, Anthony Hooker, Eric Weaver, David Knight and Michael Knight. Honorary pallbearers included Darren Knight, Robbie Knight, Larry Knight, Randy Knight, Chris Hooker, Frankie Waits and Ricky Knight. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
