Dorothy Louise Housman, 89, of Benton, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Lakeway Nursing & Rehab.

Dorothy was born in McCracken County on June 13, 1931 to Earl and Nina Thompson Vance. She was a member of Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed tending to her garden, camping, playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was a loving and devoted mother and Mamaw.

Dorothy is survived by two granddaughters, Calena "Tootie" Peeler and husband, Chris, of Paducah, Cassandra Vaughn and husband, Brandon, of Paducah; two granddaughters, Gracie and Gabbie Peeler; one son-in-law, Gene Wallace of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edgar Housman; two daughters, Kay Housman Wallace, Linda Louise Housman; one sister, Shirley Bennett; one brother, Robert Vance, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
