He began his career as a member of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre stage crew, becoming head flyman at the age of 17. In 1979, he made his acting debut on the British television series "Empire Road." He would go on to appear in such series as "Grange Hill," "Chalkface," "Love Hurts," "The Bill," "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles," and Hawaii Five-O." In 1992, he made his big screen debut in the film "As You Like It." Besides "The Saint" and "Notting Hill," he also appeared in such films as "Break a Leg," (2005) "Alone with Her," (2006) and "Charlie Says." (2018) He passed away after a battle with cancer.
