Herbert O. Abbott, 74 of 803 Walnut Drive, died at 5p.m. Monday at St. Johns Medical Center, Joplin, after a three week illness. Mr. Abbott was born March 17, 1908, in Neosho.
He was a senior analyst for the Shell Oil Company for 31 years in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1968 and moved back to Neosho in 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force, and a member of the Neosho VFW Post 9009.
He married Laura A. Bragg on Sept. 25, 1936. She survives.
Also surviving is a half brother, Dallas K. (Bill) Crumbliss, Lake Isabelle, Calif.
