The Rev. Otho Smalley, 45, of
626 MacCorkle Ave., South
Charleston, was found dead in the
bsement of his home last night.
Mr. Smalley had put his car in
the basement garage for the night
and apparently suffered a heart
attack as he was on his way up
the stairs into the house.

He had been a minister of the
Apostolic Holiness church for the
past 25 years. Most of all he loved serving our LORD, he was so grateful that he had been given the chance at eternal happiness that he wanted everyone to experience that feeling.

He was a lifelong resident of Charleston and
South Charleston.

Mr. Smalley formerly was
welder for the Carbide and Carbon
Chemicals Co. He was a son
of the late Benjamin Franklin and
Alwilda Means Smalley.
Surviving. are his wife,
Irene Hughart Smalley;
a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Cooper
of Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Carl E Smalley
of Charleston; two sisters, the
Rev. Myrtle Kidd of Charleston
and
Mrs. Virgie Jarrett of Indian
Creek; a brother,
R. T. Smalley
of South Charleston, and two
grandchildren.

Services will be tomorrow al
2:30 p. m. at the Fifty-fourth street
Apostolic Holiness church in Kanawha
City with the Revs. D. W.
Durst and A. C. Torrence officiating.
Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain
Memorial Gardens cemetery
under direction of Snodgrass mortuary
of South Charleston. The
body is at the home.
