Mrs. Martha Harrison, daughter of William and Nancy Wheeler, was born in Aurora, Dearborn Co. Ind., Feb 7th. 1832 and died at her home four miles north of Xenia, IL. March 16, 1913 at the age 81 yrs. 1 mo. 9 days.


Mrs. Harrison was married to Thos. Harrison May 24. 1857.


To this union was born four sons and six daughters namely: Mary E. Burdick, of Farlna III.. Althea J. Anderson, of Songer twp., Nancy W. Martin of Pond Breck Okla., Margaret who died in girl-hood. Wm. II. of Songer twp. Oliver Perry, of Mt. View, Okla. John I., of, Jefferson, Okla, Abble Harrell of Springfield, IL. Theo of Songer twp. and Nellie Colclasure of Flora, Ill. all of whom were able to be with her in her last sickness.


Mrs. Harrison, early in life, professed religion and became a member of the Zion Presbyterian church and remained a faithful member. To know Grandmother was to love her.


She leaves to mourn her loss nine children, 26 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of friends.


The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. John Hamerson, at her home.

The remains were laid to rest in the Oskaloosa cemetery.
