In Martinez, March 15, 1981. Elmer C. Blodgett. Beloved husband of Agnes Blodgett of Manteca, dear father of Doctor Charles M. Blodgett of Descanso and William E. Blodgett of Lafayette. Grandfather of 3 and great grandfather of 3. A native of La Grange, California, aged 85 years.

MANTECA-A service will be held Wednesday for former Manteca mayor Elmer C. Blodgett, 85, who died Sunday in the Martinez veterans hospital after a short illness. A native of La Grange, Mr. Blodgett had been a Manteca resident for 65 years and was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I, past master of the Masonic Tyrian Lodge No 439, past patron of Eastern Star Chapter 339 and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Stockton.
Mr. Blodgett was mayor from 1936 to 1944. He also was active on the City Council and was one of the first volunteers of the Manteca Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife Agnes, of Manteca; two sons, Dr. Charles M. Blodgett of Descanso, near San Diego, and William Blodgett of Lafayette; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
