Fanny Batson was born to John and Sarah A Batson in Kentucky on 11 Aug 1947. Fanny was the third of nine children. Fanny's family migrated to the town of Shelbyville in Shelby County Illinois until her marrage to Jordan W. Hogue on 08 Jul 1865. They lived in Clay County, Brazil and Cloverland area. Fanny had ten children, but only five grew to adult hood. John B. 26 Dec 1866, Robert W. 12 Feb 1869, William A. 30 Oct 1871. Martha Jane 13 Apr 1874, lived one year, Charles F. 04 Oct 1876, Marry Ettia 26 Jan 1879, lived one year, Chester F. 15 Apr 1883, lived twelve years, twins, boy and girl 16 Apr 1886, lived one month, Samuel Z. 18 Nov 1889. Fanny was sick for five years before succumbing to tuberculosis on 2 Nov 1900 in Cloverland at the age of 53.
