My family and I had adopted Zoey in 2013, rescued her from an abusive home. She never looked back. She and Noel, our Saint Bernard, became the best of friends. Zoey was a very sweet girl, truly a gentle giant. She had the biggest paws I've ever seen, and a beautiful, glossy coat.
All of her life, she'd suffered from numerous health problems, including a chronic skin, eye, and ear infection. In 2014, she had TPLO surgery in both knees, and did very well afterward.
Recently, however, she developed arthritis in the knees and spondylosis of the spine, which caused neurological problems. The poor girl could no longer get up and was in severe pain, and so we decided to euthanize her.
She was loved and will be missed.
