Deenamma Abraham was born on the 27th of February 1949 in Kulathupuzha, Kerala, India. She was the fourth of seven children of the late T.E. John and the late Annamma John, Thoppilayyathu house. She was raised in a loving Christian home, and at a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and obeyed the Lord in water baptism.

After nursing school, Deenamma worked in various places throughout India before moving to Kuwait. On February 23, 1977, she married P.O. Abraham (Ponnachan), son of the late P.M. Oonnoonny and the late Rahel Oonnoonny, Plamkoottathil/Poikayil house, Pathanapuram. In 1979 they immigrated to the USA, living in New York for a few years before settling in New Jersey. Together they raised three God-fearing daughters, Annie, Asha, and Ashley.

In 1990, the Lord called them to pastoral ministry, while continuing their secular professions. Together they served in pastoral ministry at Emmanuel Full Gospel Assembly, International Christian Church, and Emmanuel Assembly of God.

In 2009, Deenamma was diagnosed with Stage 3C ovarian cancer. The Lord gave her the promise of Psalm 118:17, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." As the Lord promised, He extended her life for over 12 years as she ministered with unwavering obedience. After her diagnosis, Ponnachan and Deenamma transitioned to evangelical ministry. Even though she was suffering, they took multiple missions trips to different parts of India. On one occasion, they were in police custody for several hours, for the sake of the gospel. By the grace of God, they were released and enabled to return home without incident. She was also actively involved in the 24 Hour Boston Prayer Line.

For more than six months, Deenamma was on home hospice care. Even though her health continued to decline, she still had a fervent passion for the Gospel. In these past few months, though she was unable to walk or even talk very clearly, she made sure to share the Gospel with every person she met, including her neighbors, hospice nurse, and home healthcare worker. She was so confident about her destiny, one of her last words was to tell her closest friends through FaceTime, "I am going to Heaven, I want to see all of you there."

On May 10, 2021, around 9 AM, she peacefully entered into her eternal rest, surrounded by her immediate family. She is survived by her loving husband Rev. P.O. Abraham, her daughter Annie, son-in-law Anil, and granddaughter Johanna, her daughter Asha, and her daughter Ashley, son-in-law Chris, and grand-sons Caleb and Ezra. She is also survived by her brother Rev. T.J. Samuel, and sisters Marykutty William, Annieamma Chacko, Lily Samuel, Mercy John, and Soosamma Mathew.

She will forever be known as a prayer warrior and bold proclaimer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We her family dedicate ourselves to continue her legacy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 5 to 9 pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27), Metuchen NJ.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 8 am at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home followed by the interment at Hillside Cemetery, 52 Lincoln Ave, Metuchen, NJ.
