After graduating from Ione Union High School, Lissa chose to live her life in the community she loved with the family and friends she so deeply cared for. Whether mixologist, pharmacist assistant or wait staff, she was had a vibrant and vivacious presence in the workplace. Her warm and comforting smile greeted all she interacted with.
Mid life she met and married her life partner, Gary Aichele. Together they bid and operated a U.S. Postal Route contract for many years. From up country back roads and Highway 88 all the way to Kirkwood there were no strangers to this team. In the down times from the business, Lissa and Gary enjoyed seeing the beauty of Northern California from the back of Gary's Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Lissa's eyes always lit up with excitement of these adventures.
With her retirement, Lissa's creativity and artistic side blossomed. Her yard was her pride and joy… plants and filled flowerpots everywhere made it a special and inviting place. Along with friends she would reach out vintage furniture and household items; through crafting and construction, she would repurpose those articles into design elements. Lissa was a memorable and passionate individual who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Aichele of Ione, CA; brother, Steve Strohm of Ione, CA; Aunt, Michele Sahlberg of Roseville, CA; Uncle, Pete Accher of La Pine, OR. And many other extended families.
Interment took place at the Ione Catholic Cemetery, Ione, CA. Contributions in Lissa's name may be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties at 1500 S. Hwy 49, Suite 205, Jackson, CA 95642.
