Ford, Kansas--- Velma "Cleo" Kinglsey, 93, died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at The Shepherd Center in Cimarron, Ks. She was born April 13, 1928 at Ford, Ks. the daughter of Joe and Mary (Dowling) Stout. She was a homemaker and a cook for Ft. Dodge, St. Mary's of the Plains, Hilltop House and New Chance.
Cleo enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, embroidery, sewing. She loved to bake desserts and canning with the apples she collected from her apple trees in her yard and cook her famous chili, chicken noodle soup and beef and noodles. Cleo always loved to take her grandkids out and spoil them.
On Feb. 22, 1948 she married Earl E. Kingsley at Ford, Ks. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2020.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Greg) Plowman of Wright, Ks.; 2 grandchildren, Gregory (Julietta) Plowman of Ford, Ks. and Casey (Shane) Ames of Jeanerette, Louisiana; 2 great grandchildren, Caden and Breanna Ames.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, David and Don Kingsley, a brother, Marion Stout, 2 sisters, Leona Campbell and Melva Fudge and granddaughter, Mandi Freeman.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wed. June 2, 2021 at Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin, Ks.
