Amanda Jane was the eldest of five children of Julia Alice Bellomy and Randolph Wells, who were married Aug 20, 1885. Ran had five sons by prior marriages (Alfred/Henry/Charles/Jim/Frank); none lived with Ran and Alice.

Amanda was born June 5, 1886, near Urich. Her siblings were William Harrison (born 1888, died at 3 months), George Randolph William born Jan 6, 1890, Ella May Maria born Sept 1891 ( died at 20 months), and Minnie Belle, born Nov 30, 1893. Their mother, Alice, didn't recover and died within months of Minnie's birth; Minnie was given up for adoption.

Amanda married James (Jim) Henry Coleman (born Dec 2, 1869 in Wayne Iowa) on March* 14, 1906 {*per obit; an internet record says May 14, 1906}. They lived the remainder of their lives in their little white house in Creighton. Amanda and Jim had two children: Leonard Henry, born March 25, 1910 and Leulla M. born June 21, 1918. Jim predeceased Amanda on 8/15/1959.

Leonard married Matilda (Tillie) Jane Gossage (b Apr 9, 1917) on Jan 16, 1935. They had three* children, George Keith, born in Creighton Mo Dec 4, 1936; Patricia Sarah, born Stockton, Ca Dec 5, 1939 and Garey/Gary Leonard born in Stockton Ca May 18, 1942.

Leonard predeceased Amanda, dying on Sept 22, 1968; his wife, Tillie died Sept. 11, 2000 in Supulpa, Creek, OK. At the time of Amanda's death in 1972, Keith and Gary were in the Tulsa area and Pat had married a Herring and was in Waco, Tx ; there were 14 great-grandchildren**.

Amanda's daughter, Luella M., married Jake Greenlee and was living in Apple Valley, Ca. as of 1972. She died Feb 1988 in Tulare, California.

{*Amanda's obit refers to a 4th grandchild, James Anderson of Barstow, Ca. Assume that Luella had a prior marriage to an Anderson and that James is their offspring. **I've found no notes to indicate who the grandchildren married or any reference about her 14 great-grandchildren.}

Amanda cared for her father, Ran, for his last two years after his health failed; he died in her home May 14, 1941 at age 89+. Amanda, the last surviving Ran Wells offspring, died in the Golden Valley Nursing home, Clinton, Mo. at age 85 yrs, 7 mos & 13 days. She and husband Jim are buried at Parker-Gregg cemetery, near Creighton.
