Mrs. Smith was a cafeteria worker at Iowa State University.
She is survived by five daughters, Gilberta Woolheater of Des Moines, Arlene Siedelman of Ames, Rozella Baldauf of Marshalltown, Bernita Brown of Springfield, Missouri, and Lavonia Tillinghast of Cinnamison, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Ames.
