Son of Heman Hastings, Sr. and Lucy Pomeroy.

Known to have been buried in Pawlet and was almost certainly buried here with his mother:
1) "Sophronia Benson died the same day and in the same house as her brother [name not given], who died of affection on the brain age 36 at Hebron, NY, on the 1st inst. She was 29 years old. Mrs. Benson left Cleveland, Ohio with two children. She came sick on the boats and was brought to her father in Vermont, where she partially recovered. In February she went to Rupert and Hebron to visit friends and died. The remains of both are interred in Pawlet."
