Freddy L. Schramm, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Survived by his sister, Sandy Slown and his brother, Elmer "Sonny" Schramm. Numerous nieces, nephews, many dear friends, and his Maneuvers family also survive.
Preceded in death by his partner, Andy Sanders; parents, Elmer (Laveda) Schramm; brother, Larry Schramm and his dear friend, Burt Batchelor.

Freddy was a leader in the LGBTQ community. He always provided a safe place for the LGBTQ community for more than 40 years. Freddy helped raised thousands of dollars to help support community charities that benefited, LGBTQ youth and HIV treatment and prevention. Freddy was born and raised in Chenoa, IL and later moved to Chicago. In 1980, Fred moved to Joliet and opened Maneuvers & Company Bar in downtown Joliet. He always had an open door for anyone in need. Fred will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial visitation will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60431 on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Per Freddy's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

In accordance with the current COVID-19 guidelines, all attendees will be required to wear a face mask and observe social distancing while in the funeral home.
